Hoosier-Style Cabinet - Plans and Hardware Kit

Hoosier-Style Cabinet Hardware Kit A blending of old and new gives this cabinet a "period" look while making it functional for homes of today.

Take A Closer LookThe cabinet is constructed of stub-tenon and groove panels (a version of frame and panel that's easier to make on a table saw), with solid wood frame and drawer parts and ¼" hardwood plywood panels and back.

The Hoosier-Style cabinet measures 73" high x 37-1/2" wide x 24" deep. It's built in two pieces -- a base unit with three drawers and a storage compartment with an adjustable shelf, and a full-width upper cabinet with an adjustable shelf. Note: You can build the base unit alone. It makes a terrific microwave cart or side-serving table.

The hardware kit includes everything you need to build the cabinet except the wood, plywood, and the glass for the doors. The kit includes wooden-wheel casters, brass bin pulls, unique Hoosier door latches and hinges, brass spoon-type shelf supports, figure-8 tabletop fasteners, brass ant traps, plastic turn buttons, and brass and steel woodscrews. The kit also includes complete, step-by-step instructions with a cutting diagram and materials list. This project was featured in Woodsmith Magazine No. 124.
